Care Guide
Our jewellery is made to last. In this guide we will go over a couple tips to keep your pieces in great conditions for years to come.
Make your jewellery the final touch in the morning and the first to come off at night.
- POLISHING
Each ARTYFACT jewel comes with a complimentary polishing cloth to restore its shine and remove oxidation. If your jewellery is made of 925 silver or 18K gold, feel free to give it a good rub. However, if your jewellery is gold-plated, opt for a more delicate approach, as the cloth may remove the gold plating. The cloth will turn black as you rub; this is entirely normal, signaling its effectiveness. Don't wash the cloth, as it will lose its polishing properties.
- WATER.
Make sure to remove your jewellery before showering or bathing, and take off rings before washing your hands. Don't forget to take off your jewellery before diving into the sea or swimming pool as well.
- CHEMICALS
Avoid exposure to chemicals such as household cleaners and chlorinated water. Remember to apply perfume and body lotion before putting on your jewellery as they might tarnish the metal.
- AVOID BENDING
Always avoid bending your jewellery. Prioritize safety by removing it before activities such as exercising, cleaning, and gardening.
- STORAGE
When you're not wearing your jewellery, store it in its original box to prevent oxidation.
We offer a replating and repair service for ARTYFACT jewels.
- REPLATING
Over time, the gold plating on jewellery may wear off due to frequent wear and exposure to elements. This is completely normal. If you notice significant fading or tarnishing that cannot be restored with cleaning, it may be time for replating. Replating involves adding a new layer of gold to the surface of the jewellery, restoring its original shine and luster.
- REPAIR
Our jewellery is made to last, but accidents happen. We want you to be able to wear your favorite pieces for a lifetime so we offer a repair service.
Please send an email to natalia@arty-fact.be including a detailed description and pictures of the items requiring repair or replating. I will respond promptly with an estimated timeframe and cost.
